PUBLIC servants in Southern Highlands who do not perform to the expectations will be terminated, provincial administrator Ungia Kembo has warned.

He issued the warning during the launching of an excavator machine bought by Mendi MP and Vice-Minister for Works and Implementation De Kewanu last Saturday at Tente district office.

Kembo said that public servants, as implementers of government policies, must perform and deliver goods and services to the people in the rural areas.

“If I see any public servant not working like in the past and collecting your pay, I will give you a chance and terminate you on the spot,” he said.

He said that in the past public servants did nothing and collected their pay but Governor William Powi had set new course for the province and expected all public servants to perform.

Powi’s new master plan captured the national government’s Vision 2050 plan, Kembo said.

“I want all public servants to turn the master plan into tangible developments and making sure that people in the rural areas deprived of basic goods and services in the past receive government’s services,” he said.

He urged the district administrators to ensure that public servants under their control performed to the expectations in line with their district plans.

Kembo commended Kewanu for giving first priority to the infrastructure development in his electorate.
