I CALL on the nine Southern Highlands MPs and other educated people to assist us expand the Mendi hospital and refurbish its facilities.
The hospital is unable to cater to the increase in the number of sick patients.
SHP has a population of more than 700,000 people but the hospital was built to cater for only 200 patients.
It is time our nine MPs came together and helped expand the hospital.
If each MP were to provide K500,000 and together with the money donated by the people, I am sure we will be able to build new wards to cater to the number of sick patients and buy new equipment.
We must all work together to expand the hospital as it is the only one that serves our mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters.
Last, I commend Mendi hospital CEO Joe Turian for doing his part to expand the hospital.
