OWNER and managing director of Asia Pacific Investment, the parent company of Bintangor Trading and franchise owner of Goroka Lahanis, Simon Sia presented K500,000 to the Lahanis on Sunday.
The money is part of a K200,000 Sia had already spent on the Lahanis preparation for their 2012 Digicel Cup campaign aimed  at defending their title.
Having being the franchise owner for the past five years the Lahanis’ 2010 and 2011 premiership campaign alone saw Sia unselfishly spending more than K2 million which paid dividends through the Lahanis two grand final victories.
Last Sunday just after round five of the competition Sia’s 2012 monetary input alone has now surpassed K700,000.00 which includes promotional merchandises players incentives and welfare assistance.
The lucrative monetary sponsorship package so far and Sia’s continued input throughout this season would be deemed to be a record set by any franchise owner or sponsor in a single season since the inception of the semi professional competition in 1990.
Sia did not hide the fact that the Lahanis would be aiming for a treble premiership title this year.
During the Simon Sia Eastern Highlands Challenge Cup finals early this year in Goroka he told cheering Lahanis fans and supporters that he would do all he could to ensure the Lahanis win back to back grand finals this year.
