SOLOMON Islands singer Samson Saeni has been living illegally in Papua New Guinea for three years, says Chief Migration Officer Solomon Kantha.
He said the singer, popularly known as Sharzy, had been performing in the country.
Kantha said Saeni last entered the country on Jan 28, 2015, and was issued a Melanesian Spearhead Group visa – a single-entry visa valid for 60 days.
“However, he overstayed his visa and is unlawfully residing and doing business in PNG,” he said.
“He has been on our alert system since September 2016. We have been trying to locate him.
“He is reported to have been unlawfully travelling between Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea (Buin and Buka).
“We will liaise with the Autonomous Bougainville Government authorities to have him sent to Port Moresby if intercepted to be charged and removed.”
Saeni was based in Wewak, East Sepik. Meanwhile Bougainville police commander Francis Tokura said Saeni performed at the Oasis Nightclub in Buka last weekend.
“But I don’t know where he went after performing,” Tokura said.
