Sir Michael, our hero

UNITING a people of more than 800 different languages and different traditions was a daunting task but Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare did it.
This great man had the courage and confidence to bring independence to this country.
Now we are free because of this great man.
We were like Israelites living in Egypt under the bonds of slavery and he brought us to the promise land.
I want to thank Sir Michael for his time and service to this country.
His deeds will never be forgotten.
On behalf of my family, I convey my heart felt sorrow to his family.
