SIX MPS who resigned from the Pangu Party last Friday over differences with party executives have rejoined it.
The six are Goilala MP William Samb, Finchhafen MP Rainbo Paita, Tewai-Siassi MP Kobby Bomareo, Lae MP John Rosso, Morobe Governor Ginson Saonu and Central Governor Robert Agarobe.
The other nine MPs who had also resigned lead by former party leader Sam Basil have joined the Melanesian Alliance Party.
Saonu, who has been appointed interim party leader, said the Pangu Pati was a household name in Morobe.
“It was due to a very small difference between the leaders and executives that the mass resignation was done and we apologise to our voters and assure them that Pangu is intact,” he said.
Samb told the party executives and leaders that they must not involve the parliamentary wing in any differences they had.
“The call for Pangu is bigger than us. So we are here. But next time do not involve all party members in your differences,” he said.
Paita clarified that technically they were all still party members because their resignations had not been submitted.
“Pangu is a household name and right now the issues we face as a country is bigger. The nine members who are on the other side are still Pangu members,” he said.
The MPs said they were united to take the party forward.
