ENGA Governor Sir Peter Ipatas has advised businesses in the province to take advantage of the government’s policy drive in the next five years focusing on economic development in the province.
Ipatas said he was pleased to see small businesses thriving in Kamas and assured them of the government’s help.
He said nearly half of the annual budget of more than K300 million was spent elsewhere and his government would make sure the money was spent and circulated in the province.
Sir Peter said some landmark projects were already underway including the K23 million Surinki vegetable project, a joint venture with the Israeli agro firm Innovative Ago Industries Ltd.
Sir Peter gave K30,000 to a local orchid farmer in Kamas to further enhance his business activities.
Sir Peter challenged all youths in the province to do away with illicit behaviours and tap into business ventures if they had nothing to do in the village.
