SME breakfast with PM welcomes newcomers

THE Small-Medium Enterprise (SME) Breakfast with the Prime Minister has introduced newcomers to share the network with financial giants in the country.
Among them are graphic artist Jane Wena, the PNG Solardry Ltd and the Wame Blood music production.
Chairman of the SME Corporation John Pora said this year’s breakfast was supporting SME firms which met market demands.
“The PNG SME Magazine has been working in the last four years to build this (breakfast event) to what it is (today),” he said.
“We continue to keep looking into the creativity in our market to extend this path and startups.
As you qualify, we will come forward with the support.”
Chief executive officer for Tisa Community Finance Ltd Karai Morea, said being the diamond sponsor of the breakfast event showed their support for SMEs this year.
“We have stepped in to show support to our ordinary moms and dads and to unlock the opportunities of employment for young people who make up the active part of our society,” Morea said.
PNG Solardry Ltd’s Debbrah Yalu told The National that her home-based coffee and cocoa manufacture business employed school drop-outs “to help us manufacture blended coffee and cocoa products such as our Coffee Moccha for the local market”.
The SME Awards for 2022 was launched by Prime Minister James Marape.
