Kumul Telikom Holdings Ltd (KTHL) is encouraging small-medium enterprises to make use of the reduced internet prices and tap into global markets.
Group interim chief executive officer and managing director Dr Mosey Sau said subsidiaries Telikom PNG Ltd and bmobile had dropped their internet prices by 85 per cent which was an incredible price drop. “We encourage all SMEs and startups to go online, start up something here and the impact is felt globally and you can bring in money from outside to improve our foreign exchange.
“We are still remodeling ourselves and there’s still more to come,” he said.
“Every one of you out there are going to be startups and will create SMEs.”
He said the Marape-led government had been supportive. “Their commitment shows that we have to start building our economy through creating and supporting more SMEs.
“That’s being the language of the Government since they came into office. So we need to drive that message across,” he said.
“And Telikom is out there to support this. Telikom provides what is known as the information super-highway connecting government to government, government to business, government to people, business to government, connecting business to business, business to people and people to people.
“That’s the kind of connectivity that Telikom is providing for the government, the people and most importantly the startups and the SMEs.
“Everybody has a role to contribute.
“Take ownership of what you have now: the access to internet. Use that wisely and creatively.”
