Soccer names Nations Cup train-on squad

 WITH the people of Papua New Guinea still talking about the historic third-place finish of their Under-23 men’s side in the XV Pacific Games, PNGFA is looking for another history-making moment in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Russia, with the announcement of a 29-man train-on squad.

The squad will move into camp at PNGFA Academy in Lae on Sunday with assistant coach Reginald Davani.

The camp will be held from Nov 9-13.

Davani said as PNGFA continued to set the foundations for the team’s campaign at the Nations Cup, his task now was to assess, assemble and put the best team forward for the qualifiers for Russia 2018.

“The squad comprises U23 players, who competed in the July Games,” Davani said.
