THE Port Moresby Men’s Softball Association season proper is nearing the finals with round 10 and a few washout matches to be played this weekend.
Games coordinator Constantine Bais said selected players for the invitational Makassar Open in Indonesia would compete among each other in the final round matches.
“For this last round, the key players will be the pitchers for the top five teams, especially in the men’s A grade division,” Bais said.
“If they can be able to strip the batters then they have a good chance of obtain a final standing on the ladder.”
Pawa is leading the A grade division followed by Defence, United Brothers, Gazelle and Bears who wrap up the top five.
The B grade men’s sees undefeated Gazelle topping the ladder followed by Defence, Aces, United Brothers and the Kikila Cats.
“There will only be a washout game between the United Brothers and Defence and the battle of their pitchers Mosley Obed (Defence) and Tony Williams (Brothers),” Bais said.
