A COMMUNITY leader has hailed Julie Soso’s election as the new governor for Eastern Highlands as history in the making.
Francis Warigoso, a Goroka community leader and one of the founding fathers of T.H.E Party, said yesterday the party created history in PNG politics with two of its women candidates elected to their maiden terms in parliament.
As well as Soso, the party also won the Sohe open seat through Delilah Gore.
“I thank party leader Don Polye and his executives for supporting women to get into parliament,” Warigiso said.
He thanked the people of Eastern Highlands who voted for Soso.
