THE Southern Super League board and club delegates will meet today (Tuesday) to confirm the total number of members vaccinated.
Chairman Bagelo Solien said this was an urgent meeting to confirm the total number of players, team managements and match officials who would be vaccinated in the National Gaming Control Board-sponsored competition.
Solien said that all the teams were vaccinated but needed to prove their vaccination with green cards to be entered into their database.
Solien said all team managements of the 12 clubs were advised to present their green cards to the SSL board by midday today at Moresby South Stadium.
He said players and officials would be allowed to access the stadium and effectively be part of the league with their green cards.
He said the competition was following directives from the National Control Centre and the PNG Sports Foundation to have all participants in the competition vaccinated before it restarted this month.
Solien said competition organisers wanted to resume games but also follow NCC requirements.
“This is very serious and to avoid this we all have to comply and adhere to all the policy and requirements,” he said.
“We plan to resume the competition on Nov 5- 6 pending the urgent meeting at the Moresby South Stadium (today).”
Meanwhile, the Moresby South Rugby League delegates meeting is scheduled for Thursday (Nov 4) at 4pm at the Moresby South Stadium.
Solien said all the club presidents of the top eight teams needed to attend the meeting.
He said the meeting would deliberate on outstanding issues affecting the competition.
