THE Port Moresby Netball Association premier division third round main fixture sees big guns Credit Corporation Sparrows and City Pharmacy Rebels clash tomorrow.
Both sides have their fair share of national representatives and top shelf netball action is expected to unfold at the Rita Flynn Complex.
After two rounds, the Rebel are on five points from a win and a draw. The Sparrows have a 1-1 record and four points.
Leading the competition unbeaten on six points from two wins are Telstars who are on a bye this weekend.
Rebels coach Oti Sarufa said she was looking forward to the game, knowing Sparrows was a strong contender of the competition.
“I believe our up and coming players with the inclusion of veterans Susan Wellington and Rosa Seseare will boost our effort,” Sarufa said.
“We have a good mixture of talent and experience and we expect to execute against Sparrows. I have confidence in my squad to deliver to the best of their abilities.
“New recruit Seseare at goal attack in place of former Pepes captain Lua Rikis in the first quarter to partner Samoan Sopolemalama Tuitama Alsop as goal shooter, which is an added bonus in our shooting circle with her height.”
Rebels have an array of talent in the mid-court to back end with former Pepe Wellington and Justina Gabina on defence while centre Winnie Mavara, wing attack Marinama Maha and wing defence Priscilla Kapi have all played at the highest level.
Sparrows co-coach Julienne Leka-Maliaki said her side would rely on their skills and fitness and ability to stick to a game plan.
“Our development pathway has been a solid 10-year plan instilling in players the club’s core values and culture towards shaping great athletes who have strong discipline, respect and a good attitude.”
