SPARTANS are determined to end the Capital Rugby Union (CRU) sevens on a high note at the Monier Bava Park in Port Moresby on Saturday.

The young gunners from Murray Barracks had a whiff of a victory last weekend but failed to go all the way when they went down to Brothers in the cup final.

Their courageous win over favourites Harlequins would have given them a morale boost and the confidence to beat some of the more recognised clubs.

Unlike the previous two weekends, the competition is only for one day.

Their first up match will be a tester against Juggernauts.

PNG development squad members Ezra Kautu and Johnson Langgogo will again lead the way after promising performances in recent weeks.

Kautu, in particular, is in great form and should again pressure opposing teams with his height and direct running style.

Coach John Larry will look to them plus Robert Lamboku and sneaky young half-back Jason Larry to assert their authority against the Juggernauts.
