SPEAKER Job Pomat now recognises Vanimo-Green MP Belden Namah as the Opposition leader.
“On Sept 1, the (Speaker’s) chair received a letter from the Opposition caucus to reaffirm the appointment of Namah as the Opposition leader,” the Speaker said.
“The chair acknowledged that decision had been made in relation to the leader of the Opposition and now officially recognised Namah as leader of the Opposition, as of today.
“The chair is mindful that the matter remains sub-judicial and is a subject of a continuing court proceeding so will not entertain any statement, question or point of order regarding the matter until the matter is dealt with by the court.”
Pomat said that on July 16 the National Court made a decision to uplift Namah’s suspension as Vanimo-Green MP.
The National Court had quashed the leadership tribunal’s decision on April 9, 2018, to dismiss Namah as the Vanimo–Green MP.

  • PNC has the best policies and these policies were working during its operation.Actions speaks louder than voices.

  • For a good and balanced governance there must be an opposition to see the effectiveness of a governing a country.
    Good Mr speaker

  • Let him,he is like a dog without teeth barking loudly but will never bite anything..so good to reappoint him again..and let him make a lot of noises in the parliament…

  • Namah is like parrot talking too much for the benefit of PNC. He was dumped by PNC after moving forcibly in to Court house to arrest CJ, but PO dumped him and he was hardly breath in. Now his fighting again for PO and he will have nothing. Do killing cuscus for the owner of the dog and dog never eat anything. Namah is like a dog barking for PNC, but they will never succeed. Pangu is in power.

  • Politics us smart leaders game. Do not under estimate our smart politicians BN could be our nex PNG PM after 2022 elections.

  • In the caucus of the opposition should focus on the person that will bring the country forward with good personal integrity and put the govt on the right frame to ensure there is due diligence and compliance by the government officials. Reapportionment of Namah as opposition leader is a sign of PNG facing the summer period we will not expect to reap what he sow.

  • Good face book warriors can say and made nasty comments of BN but in this PNG history there is no one MP like BN who can change the government three times. He is most power full then any PM’s. Simplify I can assure facebook warriors of negatives comments that Not like your elected leader can do such. BN is most powerful leader in this nation. He is a great lion none than any. He mend and destroy the high tide political power. Prove me wrong if i am wrong. Souths Amessii.

    • Lucas Leme..I salute you and I remembered the Sand Line Crisis when BN was a soldier and Hero of This Nation with his colleagues and their Brigidier General Jerry Singorok.. Salute To You Namah..
