THE Biangai Sports Association (BSA) in the Wau rural local-level government area, Bulolo, for the first time will be sending their players to compete in regional football in Lae.
Wau Football Association president Shem Farrock told The National that he was happy to recommend BSA as an associate member of his football association to participate in the Momase leg of the Besta FA Cup.
The Besta FA Cup deferred to this week will run for five days from Wednesday to Sunday at Lae Football Association.
And BSA is sending a men’s team to take part in the Papua New Guinea Football Association-sanctioned tournament.
Farrock said for the first time under his leadership, he had recognised the potential of youth football.
“Football can bring change to the community in many ways like safety and healthy living, bring peace to the community plus many more,’ he said.
“So I have to recommend the village association to expose its young players by putting up the team to participate in the Besta FA Cup.
“The team have no experienced players but will depend on their player/coach Moses Aine, Paul Kovei and Darius Edwin. The team rely heavily on Junior Trevor Farrock to look after the goalmouth as keeper.”
Farrock also urged business houses and landowner companies to support the association to involve youths from villages or towns to be part of the community in sports.
