St John board members sworn in

NEW members of the National St John Council of PNG were sworn in by Governor-General Sir Bob Dadae yesterday.
According to a statement from Government House, the appointment of the new council members was for a period of one and three years.
The statement said the new members represented various sectors of the community with experience in law, medicine and the business community, among others.
They new members are Jean Kekedo (chair), Peter Lowing (deputy chair), Lutz Heim (treasurer) Des Yaninen (member), Dr Lynda Sirigoi (senior medical officer), David Manning (Police Commissioner), Ivan Lu (business community) and Vavine Anang (member- appointment term of one year).
The new members recited the oath of service of The Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem to serve humanity in sickness, distress, suffering or those in danger.
Sir Bob is a Knight of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, KStJ, and president of the National St John Council of PNG, which is the governing body of the St John Ambulance of PNG.
