Staff encouraged to serve faithfully, maintain high standards

STAFF at the Government House were encouraged to serve faithfully and maintain high standards, during a welcome and dedication ceremony in Port Moresby yesterday.
All staff, including Governor-General Sir Bob Dadae and Lady Emeline Dadae, attended with celebrant Rev Qoki Zongoreng were saying the service and sacrifice was commendable in order to fulfil their duties.
“You are like the light for the whole world,” he said.
“God has chosen you to be that light to bring light in your sacrificial and faithful services to the government house, the Government, people of this country and to your God,” Zongoreng said.
Zongoreng urged the staff to uphold Christian ideals and principles in line with the Constitution and serve their country proudly.
The dedication service was followed by a dedication prayer which included the dedication of the new Bentley vehicle presented to Government House by Prime Minister James Marape and speeches.
Acting Official Secretary Bill Toroso officially welcomed Lady Emeline Dadae and Sir Bob back to Government House to resume his duties as vice regal.
Toroso said 2019 had been a challenging year for them but thanked the hard working staff who remained committed to serve the country and hoped that this year would be a good year.
Sir Bob told the staff that he and his wife needed their support to work together to serve Papua New Guinea. He encouraged them to uphold and practice the principles of honesty, loyalty and commitment this year and onwards.
