MORE than 20 staff at the iPi Group’s head office in Port Moresby including their families were registered by the PNG National Identification (PNGNID) mobile registration team last Saturday.
The company said its staff and their families were grateful for the opportunity given by its management in inviting the NID team to register them.
Staff member Ricky Kepas said it had made it convenient to register.
“I am thankful that the NID team are here because most of us couldn’t find time off from work to go register,” Kepas said.
The mobile registration team had been visiting government offices and the private sector nationwide to carry out registrations since the exercise began in 2015.
iPi catering human resource manager Julie Sema said they invited the team to come because of the importance of the NID.
“Once registered, our employees can use their NID cards for services such as banking, health, travel and most importantly for the coming general election,” she said.
Sema encouraged other business houses to invite the mobile team to register their staff to fast track the exercise before the 2022 general election.
Arrangements are underway with both the iPi Group and the NID team to carry out registrations for iPi staff in other operational sites.
