THE Public Accounts Committee of Parliament summoned stakeholders after the cancellation of Air Niugini flights to explain their “side of the story”.
Air Niugini, Puma Energy Ltd and Bank of Papua New Guinea explained to the committee members in Parliament what created the fuel shortage problem which led to the flight cancellations.
Committee chairman Richard Masere will be tabling a statement in Parliament soon on the outcome of the meeting.
The cancellation of flights by Air Niugini affected those booked for flights on Thursday a week ago.
The purpose of the meeting was to have an open discussion with current issues on hand to iron out any differences and find a solution. The representatives of the agencies were given the opportunity to explain the issues.
