PROLIFIC striker Meagan Gunemba has been recalled into the national train-on squad as they take part in a camp at the PNG Football Association Education Centre at 11-Mile outside Lae.
The Poro skipper was initially omitted due to family commitments, but was recalled after public outcry over her omission from the squad.
Gunemba will now join the other squad members who are Asaiso Gossie, Joan Uttie, Margaret Joseph, Charlie Banzeck, Kesai Kotome, Betty Sam, Nenny Elias, Ramona Padio, Isabella Natera, Olivia Upaupa, Fidelma Watpore, Faith Kasiray, Lavina Hola, Shalom Waida, Sera Waida, Georgina Bakani, Rumona Morris, Yvonne Gabong, Sonia Embahe, Marie Kaipu, Arnolda Dou, Rayleen Bauelua.
National women’s team coach Nicola Demaine confirmed Gunemba’s recall, stating that she was never dropped or omitted.
She was not available for the first camp due to family reasons.
There are other players who are being monitored by the association’s technical officials and national selectors.
Meanwhile, Demaine warned that players would have to keep up with the new training regime or else they would miss out on representing the country.
