Round 12 of the Kumul Petroleum National Soccer League kicks off tomorrow with Star Mountain FC taking on Bougainville at Port Moresby’s Papua New Guinea Football Stadium.
Star Mountain, under coach Selan Elijah, drew 2-2 with the highly-fancied Vitiaz United.
“The draw against Vitiaz was a good one and puts us in a good position to face Bougainville,” he said.
“We’ve had a shortage of players in a couple of positions which we really wanted to fill so the special transfer window has helped a lot and we’re quite happy with where we are now.”
Star Mountain will be relying on former Bougainville player Moses Arisib to boost their attack from midfield while forward Patterson Elijah will be looking to add to his double from last weekend in tomorrow’s opener of the Port Moresby triple-header.
Bougainville will be determined to bounce back from their 0-2 defeat by Hekari United on Saturday.
Basil Jofari and Gwana Taukoro are expected to lead Bougainville’s attack. The second match will see Vitiaz face Morobe Wawens with both sides coming off draws on Saturday. The main match will see the top-of-the-table clash between defending champions Lae City and Hekari United.
Meanwhile, Gulf Komara travel to Lae to face Kutubu and the visiting Tusbab Stallions meet Morobe United.
