Stay disciplined

Letters

I FEAR one thing and it makes me worry about the future of our nation.
I fear this thing because it is not a blessing, nor is it a joke or a seed that will bear good things for my children, your children or our nation.
It’s a monster that kills.
It’s a disease that has failed, is failing, and will destroy our nation.
The truth must be told so that the ordinary person walking along our streets knows.
It must be shared so that parents must be informed.
It must be told that our children understand what it is, make a decision and avoid being consumed by this monster.
If you’re raised by a disciplined family, please stay disciplined.
Don’t fool around.
Don’t pretend to be good when around your parents.
Be true to yourself because one day, you’ll be consumed by the monster.
I’ve seen it happen.
The monster or disease is “undiscipline.”
When I say undisciplined, I mean lacking good behaviour or you being a person of no good manners and values.
This is what I fear.
Across our higher institutions, many students are drug addicts and alcoholics.
This has led them to destroy school properties, adopt new destructive habits, and disrespect fellow students.
I would say that the destruction of a student is the destruction of the nation.
This is because the student who is destroyed could be the saviour of his or her family.
He or she could be the CEO of a State-owned enterprise.
“Undisciplined” has destroyed and imprisoned many.
It has killed many.
If a person isn’t careful, he or she could be destroyed by it anytime and anywhere.
You can’t avoid breaking a law that guides if you can destroy something small in your school.
You’ll abuse laws to feed your greed if you’re undisciplined.
Without good behaviour and positive values, you can’t avoid being influenced by the established system of systematic corruption. Small things matter.
Thus, discipline matters.
Discipline isn’t a product of age.
It’s a product of commitment and maturity, of purposeful living.
It’s a product of self-awareness and love.
If you’re someone who has been consumed by the monster or severely affected by the disease, it’s time to start disciplining yourself.
This way, you’re helping yourself, your family, and our nation.
Let’s take back ourselves and our country through “good discipline”.
It matters.
