DIGICEL PNG chief operations officer Colin Stone has been named the company’s new chief executive, effective immediately.
Stone replaces Oliver Coughlan, who has moved back to his previous role as chief executive officer of Digicel Pacific.
Stone joined Digicel PNG last August with 15 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry and a reputation for driving innovation and growth.
“The board and the executive leadership team, including myself, are confident that Colin is the best person to lead Digicel PNG into the future, while continuously improving staff engagement and development of new business opportunities,” Coughlan said in a statement.
“Having worked for Digicel Group in a variety of senior management roles, Colin has a deep understanding of the business and has been instrumental in defining and delivering our commercial strategy and customer experience journey.
“His vast career experience and knowledge will guide Digicel PNG to new heights of opportunity,” he said.
“It has been an honour leading our dedicated Digicel PNG team.
“We have achieved many great milestones over the recent years, and I can say with confidence that Digicel will continue to bring the benefits of transformational technologies and communication advances to people and businesses across the length and breadth of this great country under the new leadership of Colin.
“We are confident that Colin will continue to be an exceptional business mentor and leader whose vision, drive and performance focus will strengthen the Digicel PNG business and staff.”
