CITY Pharmacy Limited (CPL)Group chief executive officer Navin Raju says the reopening of Stop and Shop Badili marks the first step in its recovery journey since the devastating events of Jan 10.
“We lost four shops in just a day and a half, and our turnover plummeted by 50 per cent,” he said.

Wanigela resident Rigona Gumuna said she was happy to be able to shop again at the Badili outlet as it was convenient and affordable.

However, we rose the next day, united by a powerful determination to rebuild and secure the jobs of our dedicated staff.
“We’re proud to take this crucial first step towards rebuilding and recovering.
“We’ve been deeply touched by the outpouring of support from the Badili community, and we want to express our sincere gratitude.
“We also extend a heartfelt thank you to the exceptional SNS team, who worked tirelessly to get this shop ready for business in such a short time.”

Raju said the CPL Group remained committed and steadfast as PNG’s favorite retailer.
“Keeping to our vison and mission to help Papua New Guineans live better and healthier lives,” Raju said.
But he said the Stop and Shop Harbour City supermarket would not be reopened.

“Instead, we are looking forward to future prospects of two new SNS supermarkets in Port Moresby soon,” Raju said.
Stop and Shop Downtown has been redone and seen increased business due to the extended operating hours during the week.
It is now open for trading on Sundays.
