THIS is a query directed to the Public Relations Officer of Bank South Pacific and its Management Team.

I would really appreciate it if I could be given an acceptable reply.

I am an average income earner and I am struggling to make ends meet while penning this query.

Maybe out of ignorance I normally don’t get mini statements using the ATM service but last night I did manage to get one printed out.

I was very disturbed to find out that for every ATM withdrawal, there is a 75 toea fee deducted and a Digicel Top Up fee of 50 toea per top up and maybe other hidden cost fees, who knows!

Why are you doing this to us BSP? You are the largest Bank in the South Pacific and year in, year out you make hundreds of millions of kina as profit.

I am aware that as a business entity you want to make money but I consider it cheating of the worst kind as 85 per cent of Papua New Guineans are simple rural based villagers and to charge fees like that on their hard-earned savings is daylight robbery.

Do some calculations and see how much you making per day (1000 withdrawals x O.75t is 750 x 7 = K5250/week)

Stop this withdrawal fee or else lessen these fees to 10 toea or 20 toea.

Can we also be provided information on other costs as well.
