A MAN who alleged tried to kill his former wife has been given strict orders by the court not to interfere with her or any State witness.
Roland Kapo, of Port Moresby, appeared before Magistrate Mekeo Gauli who told him to pay K1000 if he wanted to be released on bail.
Police alleged that he tried to kill Jenny Yange by throwing a stone at her on May 15 at Magana, 9-Mile in Port Moresby.
Magistrate Gauli told Kapo to pay the K1000 if he wanted to be released from custody but also to:

  • not interfere with his ex-wife nor any state witnesses who wished to give their statement to the police;
  • not leave Port Moresby and to attend court at all times until the completion of his case. But if he wishes to go to Kerema to see his family, he must seek leave from the court; and,
  • report to the Waigani District Court registry every Monday to sign his bail conditions.

The court was told that Kapo and Yange had been married for a number of years but separated after they had arguments. Kapo married another woman later.
