SCHOOLS in Hela are adjusting well to the e-library concept, an electronic library where students can have access to books, journals, novels and articles online, an official says.
Hela education adviser Ronny Angu said the programme was introduced last year with the aim to enhance learning for students.
“The programme was introduced by the Hela education division,” Angu said.
He said it aimed to provide students with the appropriate reading, information and communication technology, and research materials to boost academic performance.
He said the plan was to have the concept rolled out in secondary schools.
“We would like to see our grade 10s and 12s excel in their academic results and the national examinations,” he said.
Angu said with the help of stakeholders, the concept was successfully rolled out in Tari, Hoyebia and Koroba secondary schools where students now had access to e-library resources.
He said Margarima would soon be able to facilitate e-learning as they were rebuilding their facility.
“Reading, ICT and researching is the key to success for all students.”
