A CALL has been made to students who are accepted to the PNG University of Technology (Unitech) and the University of Goroka (UOG) to register and make bookings to sit special tertiary admission (STAT-P) aptitude tests.
Acting deputy registrar, academic, for Unitech Gabriel Paul told The National yesterday that successful candidates must make bookings because the test was compulsory.
“Registration for the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) STAT-P aptitude test will close on October 14,” Paul said.
“All school leavers applying to Unitech and UOG and all pre-service non-school leavers applying to UOG are required to register and pay their K100 fees.
“Once you are registered, you will be able to make bookings so that you can sit for the tests.
“The STAT-P tests will be conducted from Nov 6 at nine locations around the country.”
Paul said the locations were Cameron Secondary School in Alotau, Hutjena Secondary School in Buka, University of Goroka, Kokopo Secondary School, Unitech, Port Moresby National High School, Ecom Secondary School in Manus, Holy Trinity Teachers’ college in Mt Hagen and Mercy Secondary School in Wewak.
“There are a lot of student queries on our Facebook page, and we are always answering them.
Unitech public relations office confirmed that so far there were only 53 bookings and more than 600 unconfirmed ones by applicants.
