TWELVE students from the Kutubu Secondary School in Southern Highlands were shown how an oil and gas company operates during an Oil Search school excursion programme.
The excursion began with Oil Search’s standard safety induction for visitors before a guided tour of the company’s central processing facility, refinery and waste management area at the Kutubu and Moran Operation site.
The students also visited other facilities like the clinic, fire rescue, gymnasium, mess and residence.
“This partnership between Oil Search and Kutubu Secondary School allows students to gain a basic understanding of our operations including our approach to sustainable development through our activities in the local communities and the country,” said Oil Search’s executive general manager for stakeholder engagement, Gerea Aopi.
“The students are given an opportunity to meet industry professionals from different departments who share their experiences and how their role contributes to achieving Oil Search’s overall vision.”
