Students, teachers and community reminded of their purpose

Faith

THE main purpose why God created men and women fearfully and wonderfully in His own image and likeness is to glorify Him every second in their entire life on earth, Evangelical Brotherhood church pastors
and leaders say.
“Men and women must live a purpose-driven life, that is, observe godliness every day,” they told students, teachers and the community of Waghi Valley Secondary School in Jiwaka.
“Life on Earth is very short to become slaves of the devil.
Pastor Jackson Tumbe told students that they should ask themselves: “Is my conduct at the school, in the classroom and at home glorifying God?”
“As teachers, is my conduct showing others that I am God-fearing?
“Our society is getting crazy and evil has taken over because we have surrendered our willpower to the devil.
“We are becoming slaves to the devil and are trapped in sin.”
He quoted Hebrew 10:19 and elaborated on the theme of the week-long dedication service: “My purpose on earth.”
Tumbe said that everything was created for a purpose and for God’s own glory.
He said men and women must say no to sin and accept Jesus Christ as their personal saviour.
“Today, most people are living a greedy and selfish life,” he said.
“They are living for themselves.
“We have to ask ourselves: Am I living for God every day or am I living to satisfy my own needs and wants?
“Jesus showed us how we should live. He is our perfect role model that we should look to and emulate.
“We must understand that there are two groups of people that do not like to glorify God – they are the fallen angels and men and women trapped in sin.
“If we realise that we are in this trap, then we need to get out immediately.
“How can I bring glory to God?
“It is to practice godliness in our daily lives – live a Christ-like life.
“We must live a life of service to others by showing love.”
