Students waiting to return to China

Letters

GOOD to hear that China’s foreign minister Wang Yi will be visiting Papua New Guinea next month.
Can our good Prime Minister ask the minister and his delegation about when PNG students studying in universities in China will return to China to complete their studies?
These students plus other international students have lost two years of their university studies due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) border closures.
Other countries have already started opening up international borders for international students to return while China is still closed.
On March 21, more than 80 Solomon Islands students travelled to China for university studies.
Can the Government together with Chinese embassy and Foreign Affairs Department meet and discuss this urgently and arrange the return of PNG students just like what the Solomon Islands government had done?
We have bright university students wasting away in PNG when they should be returning to China to complete their studies.
