SUMKAR MP Alexander Orme Suguman has urged public servants in the district to improve their performance next year.
Speaking during the opening of the district’s office, Suguman said all public servants would settle in the district to help the people.
“Instead of going to Madang to look for the MP, a notice board will be put in front of the district office for you to read notices,” he said.
He also urged the people to lodge complaints or requests at the two district offices in Sumkar and Kiprim.
“I appeal to you to support and work with us so we can deliver services in the district,” he said.
As the festive season approaches, he appealed to youths to refrain from taking alcohol and drugs.
“Next year is another academic year, don’t let these toxic substances destroy your brain,” he said.
Suguman said K1 million would be allocated for tertiary students next year.
“To get the school fee subsidy, the student must meet the requirements,” he said.
Madang police commander Acting Supt Mazuc Rubiang said six officers and a police station commander would be sent to the district by the end of the month.
“If you take care of these officers, they will take care of you,” he said.
