STOP & Shop (SNS) has started an initiative to focus on local root vegetables in its outlets in Port Moresby.
SNS marketing manager Regina Narokobi said the root crop festival was a way of supporting local farmers.
“Our root vegetables are sourced from some of the richest and most organic soil,” she said.
“Apart from the displays, there will be tasting of samples of these beautiful food and information sessions provided by these farmers.
“The journey from the garden to the grocery bag is always cherished by City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) Group as we source them from the Highlands and Islands.”
CPL Group’s special projects manager Ajay Patel said: “What a better way to make a healthier, and better PNG, as CPL’s vision states, than to eat healthy garden food.”
