Support for Eminent Envoys, Friends League

Letters

I WRITE to congratulate Governor General Sir Bob Dadae on the recent launch of the Eminent Envoys and Friends League Inc (League).
The initiative heralds a new era of progress and enlightenment for PNG, and it has my expressed support and admiration.
In a time when our nation stands ready to mark 50 years of Independence, the need for visionary leadership and guidance has never been more pressing. The League fills the void by providing a platform for mature former civil servants, academia, diplomats, business persons, and other like-minded professionals to mentor and guide our younger generation today and into the future.
The advantages are manifold.
Firstly, the wealth of experience and knowledge that members of the league bring to the table is unparalleled. Drawing from their diverse backgrounds and professions, they would offer invaluable guidance and wisdom to the next generation of leaders. This mentorship will not only instill a sense of responsibility and integrity but also empower young Papua New Guineans to strive for excellence in their endeavors.
Moreover, Eminent Envoys and Friends League will serve as a catalyst for positive change and development in society. By fostering collaboration and dialogue among its members, the League will facilitate the exchange of ideas and best practices. In doing so, it will forge a path towards a brighter and prosperous future for Papua New Guineans.
As a member of the Civil Society Forum, I am particularly heartened by the potential of this initiative to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance in our country.
By upholding these principles and values, the League will play a pivotal role in shaping the future trajectory of PNG, ensuring it remains a beacon of hope and opportunity for generations to come.
I applaud Sir Bob Daae for his visionary leadership and commitment to the welfare of our nation.
The launch of the Eminent Envoys and Friends League marks a milestone in our journey towards progress and prosperity.
