ALL districts in East Sepik should support their students in tertiary institutions, Maprik MP John Simon says.

Simon gave K90,000 to 96 students in various tertiary institutions in the National Capital District.

“Funds that I am using now for your school fees subsidy came out of the district services implementation programme for development purpose in the district,” he said.

“Of course we are developing human resources and this money goes to support your tuition fees because I believe in supporting students.”

He told the students that it was not a cash advance but for their education.

“This is Government money supposed to be used for development purposes and I want the money to be used for its purpose,” Simon said.

Simon also apologised to the students for the delay in payment.

“This is something that is done by the district administration. Unfortunately the administration in Maprik is very slow,” he said.

He appealed to Maprik students who want assistance from the tuition fee subsidy to fill the forms in the district office.

“In that way, I will also know how many students are there at UPNG, ITI, and Don Bosco. The only way for you to tell me is by filling in the form,” he said.
