NATIONAL Capital District (NCD)police have identified the suspect allegedly involved in the killing of a woman whose body was found behind the Digicel headquarters recently.
NCD Metropolitan Superintendent Gideon Ikumu told The National that the suspect was the deceased’s husband.
“Prior to the woman’s death, the couple were having an argument on Saturday night (1/10/22) and the next day, she was found dead,” he said.
Ikumu said the 40-year-old woman from Chuave, Chimbu, sold betelnut near the Farmset head office in the Gordon industrial area.
He said on Saturday night other betelnut sellers around the Gordon area had to intervene and stop the fight from escalating.
“Unfortunately, her body was discovered next to the drain near the Digicel headquarters,” Ikumu said.
Meanwhile, a suspect in the death of a woman whose body was found at the Nine-Mile cemetery on Sept 27 had been identified, but was yet to be arrested, police said.
