A BUSINESS delegation from Taiwan will be in the country in the next two days for this year’s trade fair, an official says.

Trade Mission of the Republic of China (or Taiwan) representative Daniel Chun-pu Hu said the visit showed the growing confidence the Taiwanese business sector had in Papua New Guinea.

The trade volume between Taiwan and PNG increased to K994.5million (US$366.3 million) last year compared with K727.6million (US$268 million) in 2012.

“The bilateral trade between Taiwan and PNG is expected to grow further in the coming years,” Hu said.

He said the delegation is led by Taiwan Turnkey Project Association chairman Chin-teh Chang, who was in Port Moresby for last year’s trade event.

This year’s delegation include executives from the Taiwan Agricultural Economy Technology Co, Taiwan Foundation For Agricultural Strategy Coalition, Triple Treasures Group, Taiwan Agricultural Economy Technology Co, LCY Chemical Corp, Hwa Tai Investment Co, Tang Eng Steel Co, Wan Uio Human Resource Co, and Taiwan Turnkey Association.
