Take Bougainville’s statement seriously

THE statement by Autonomous Bougainville Government (ABG) President Ismael Toroama must not be taken lightly by the next elected leader and the government of the day (The National, May 30).
It is more or less a blunt warning to whoever will be their mouth piece in the National Parliament to achieve what Bougainvilleans have been fighting for.
It is up to the people of Bougainville to vote in leaders who are like-minded like Toroama.
Otherwise, we might see Bougainvilleans taking part in the next general election in 2027.
The future is in your hands to decide.
