WEST New Britain police commander, Chief Insp John Iara says police presence in communities is important.
He said this when presenting a police vehicle to the Talasea rural police station.
Iara said he presented the vehicle to improve policing in rural communities.
“Without good mobility, we cannot provide the best policing services,” he said.
He said there were a lot of issues and the vehicle would help Talasea police station commander Sgt Kevin Moni and his men and women to curb issues in communities.
Iara appealed to the PSC and his men to use the vehicle properly and according to its intended purposes.
PSC Moni assured that the vehicle would only be used for its intended purposes.
“I have made several requests for a vehicle as we only have one and now that we’ve got this one, we will do our best,” he said.
