Tambul folks must look on bright side

Letters, Normal

I REFER to the report “PM appoints Somare as acting Treasurer” (The National, June 28).
The people of Tambul-Nebilyer must not be disappointed with the appointment of PM’s son Arthur Somare as the acting Finance and Treasury Minister.
Many have expressed their views that Tambul-Nebilyer MP Benjamin Poponawa is the right man for the post because he is the vice-minister.
A number of eligible and qualified candidates have also missed out because of the nature of the political powers and greed within the National Alliance led-government.
The people of Tambul-Nebilyer must look on the bright side because Poponawa has brought development and progress to the electorate.
We have benefited from tangible infrastructure like the sealing of Tomba-Tambul road, electricity from Tambul station to Gia, EMTV coverage of the Tambul valley, four new Toyota Landcruiser ambulances and bemobile and Digicel coverage among others.
