THE Tari town and airport landowners have apologised to William Bando, the acting administrator for Hela province.

Thomas Pole Minape, chairman of the Airport, Tari Town Construction Company Ltd (ATTCC), said any threats or complaints made against Bando and his relatives were only from a few individuals and had nothing to do with the majority of landowners.

The company is owned by the 26 landowning clans of the Hela provincial headquarters and Tari airport.

He said the landowners had been waiting for those who issued the threats to publicly apologise but none of them did.

“We sincerely apologise to Bando and his family for the actions of the few,” he said.

“We understand that Bando is only a public servant while  Governor Anderson Agiru and Minister James Marape are our elected representatives and they have nothing to do with the landowner fund parked in

the Hela Transitional Authority trust account,” he said.

The ATTCC has also welcomed the appointment of two deputy administrators, William Kara and Jack Walara, who are familiar with the issues faced by the landowners and district administration.
