Districts and provincial governments will be able to apply for the tax credit scheme in March.
Minister for National Planning and Monitoring Richard Maru, pictured, told Parliament yesterday that they had completed the review and revised the guidelines for the scheme.
Maru, who is Member for Yangoru-Saussia, said the reviewed scheme and its revised guidelines were with the National Executive Council (NEC) for deliberations and would hopefully be cleared by early next week.
“We will print the ‘Newlook Tax Credit Scheme’ textbooks once NEC clears it and Prime Minister Peter O’Neill launches it during the leaders’ summit in March,” he said.
“Once it is launched, the districts and the provinces, all of us, can start applying for the scheme in March for development projects.”
