SECRETARY for Education Dr Musawe Sinebare has reminded all teachers to fill their resumption of duty summary sheets when they take up their postings on Monday.
Sinebare said this was important because it confirmed that the teacher had resumed duty at the school in the position that the national or provincial education board had appointed him or her to for the academic year.
He said the form would determine the continuity of the teacher’s salary for the year.
He asked all school principals and head teachers to ensure all the forms were correctly filled and signed.
He said the forms must be forwarded to the provincial education office and to the respective assistant secretaries at Fincorp Haus for the Payroll and Related Services (PARS) branch by Feb 27.
Failure to do that would mean they would not be paid after March 7.
Sinebare said those teachers whose pay had been suspended because of non-compliance would have to consult the Public Employees Association to lodge a copy of their resumption of duty summary sheets for them.
He said individual teachers would be entertained at the Payroll and Related Services (PARS) branch.
Sinebare said new graduates and commencements would be placed on the payroll on receipt of the following documents:
l Copies of qualification documents;
l Copy of teacher registration; and
l Dully completed teacher record of appointments and resumption of duty summary sheets.
