SMALL Beginnings made sure their number one status in pool two remained intact following a 47-30 win over Team Bara in the Tabubil Corporate Basketball on Sunday.

It was a fourth straight loss for Team Bara and it will take great team effort to get them back winning .

Small Beginnings never looked to be facing any real threat from Bara and were composed from the first quarter.

Kristy Coubury, Diclieu Patterson, James Lovelock, Cameron McGregor and Christopher Dobermier were the main stays for their side.

Pace-setters McGregor and Lovelock led the scoring spree, while Coubury provided good support by turning rebounds into points.

Aloysius Eviaisa, Bella Gideon, Lea Konane and Lina Anderson played a blinder.

For Team Bara Ruddie Artango was their best player as she took on Small Beginnings without fear.

Artango tried her best to motivate her team mates but Small Beginnings had built a big lead and played a defensive game to deny Barra any chances of winning.

In the other match, BOC Gas Busters recorded their second win in a row with a comfortable 43-30 victory over Chalkies Team Two.

Chalkies could not maintain the pressure valve as the Gas Busters threw open the floodgates and scored at will.

Gas Busters ran riot in the first quarter, scoring 22 points to nine but Chalkies managed to keep them at bay in the second quarter 4-6 before winning the third quarter 14-9.
