THE fourth round of the Isuzu National Cup was completed on Sunday with Isuzu Black bouncing back to beat Isuzu Yellow by three wickets after an impressive perforamce from Gaudi Toka’s unbeaten 77 in the run chase.
Yellow batted first, opening with Mavara Hekure and Hoge Henao who put on 27 for the first wicket before Hekure was caught by Assad Vala off the bowling of Michael Charlie.
Jason Kila and Henao progressed the score past 50 before Kila was dismissed (leg before wicket) while Henao was out for 22.
This started a procession of wickets, including Riley Hekure (13), Mahuru Dai (11) and Norman Vanua (10), as Yellow went into a tail spin, losing 7/59.
The only fight came from No.10 Gari Dairi (15 not-out) and Bobby Diho (20) who shared a last wicket partnership of 37 to raise the team total to 147.
Isuzu Black’s run chase was led by opener Gaudi Toka with a fluent 77 not-out, seeing his team through to victory.
