Team Morobe finalised

TEAM Morobe has finalised its contingent for the 8th PNG Games in Port Moresby from Jan 10-20.
Team Morobe management is working to source fund to send more than 400 athletes and officials to the nation’ capital for the multi-sport event.
The technical team, headed by Ludwig Peka are managing the athletes’ training programmes, with team manager Nane Winnion Tomala said the focus had shifted to fundraising to ensure all athletes and officials traveled to Port Moresby.
She also thanked businesses that contributed at a fundraising dinner on Oct 28 and those that also donated prizes on the night.
“Following from that we now kindly appeal to Port Moresby-based businesses to support our efforts to raise much needed funds to give our athletes the opportunity to showcase their talents at the PNG Games and strive to meet higher standards,” Tomala said.
She said a fundraising dinner was now scheduled for Dec 23 at the Dynasty Restaurant in Port Moresby.
Tomala acknowledged the companies that had already committed to buying tables for the event.
Team Morobe management is looking forward to other stakeholders from around the country coming in to help their provincial side.
