EMTV, in partnership with the Papua New Guinea Sports Foundation (PNGSF), will be broadcasting live all the action of Team PNG at the Samoa Pacific Games from July 7-20.
With nine days left till the start of the Games, EMTV will be sending a crew of 17 operators, editors, producers and technicians to Apia.
The coverage, to be hosted by Sports TV host Jeremy Mogi, will be providing commentary and insight to PNG’s progress throughout the Games.
Games coverage on EMTV will begin at 9am on July 8 and will be focused on action featuring Team PNG.
Acting chief executive Sheena Hughes said EMTV was excited to be working in partnership with the PNGSF to ensure that Papua New Guineans did not miss out on seeing their national athletes in action.
“What this means is that we will not only be bringing back footage provided by the host broadcast of the games itself, but we will also be relaying PNG-specific footage, and PNG-specific games for our people at home to follow,” Hughes said.
EMTV is working closely with Team PNG and the PNG Olympic Committee to bring back all the latest Games updates.
“We’re very grateful to be in partnership with the Government through the PNG Sports Foundation, and also our supporting sponsors which include PNG Power, PNG Dataco, Prima, and Colgate.
“And together, we will be bringing PNG full coverage which will be live and free.”
Chief executive Peter Tsiamalili Jr said PNGSF was partnering with EMTV because of its reach and popularity amongst sports followers in the country.
EMTV is no stranger to the Games, having successfully covered and broadcast the 2015 edition in Port Moresby.
