COMMONWEALTH Games village mayor David Moorcroft welcomed Team Papua New Guinea at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, on Monday.
Receiving a gift from Moorcroft, general management team operations and administration official Chris Amini thanked the Games organising committee for the warm welcome.
“Team PNG has settled in since arrival on Friday, Saturday and Monday respectively,” Amini said.
Meanwhile, weightlifting team manager Kila Mala said weightlifters Dika Toua and Morea Baru were well into their third training session with four more sessions to go before Saturday’s competition.
“So far, all is going well for the two weightlifters in their training and recovery,” Mala said.
“We thank everyone for their support, particularly head physiotherapist Matthew Natusch for all the post-recovery work.”
